Kirby Heyborne Heads to Ghana in New Making Good Special

What happens when Kirby travels to Ghana to help prepare for a celebration—and discovers a community that changes his perspective along the way?

In the newest episode of Making Good, Kirby joins Nurturing Nations, an organization in Ghana that provides food, education, and a safe, supportive community for children. The organization works to create opportunities for children and families while helping break cycles of poverty and child slavery.

Kirby doesn't just observe. He jumps into the work.

He carries water, tries his hand at bead making, learns to pound fufu, helps prepare meals, and practices traditional dance with the kids. He also visits the King of the Ga tribe to invite him to the Nurturing Nations celebration.

Along the way, Kirby meets students including Monica, Collins, Daniel, and Kelvin, hearing their stories and learning about their hopes for the future. The outline describes the episode as a journey through both the daily work of the Nurturing Nations community and the personal stories of the children whose lives have been touched by it.

The journey culminates in a colorful celebration at the Nurturing Nations campus, where students perform traditional music, dance, and storytelling alongside Ghanaian royalty and their community.
