Cosmic Pictures-Supported Film Butterfly in a Blizzard Earns Two Sports Emmy Nominations

We are beyond proud to share that Butterfly in a Blizzard has received two Sports Emmy nominations: Outstanding Sports Documentary: Long Form and Outstanding Sports Editing: Long Form.

This film is something special. Butterfly in a Blizzard follows the deeply personal journey of professional snowboarder Kimmy Fasani — tracing her metamorphosis from globe-trotting winter sports icon to mother, while navigating identity shifts, childhood trauma, a breast cancer diagnosis, and the profound transformation of matrescence. Captured over five years with raw, intimate access, it's a film that goes far beyond sport.

Our team, led by Dan Olsen, had the privilege of handling color, online, mastering, and DCP for the film. Getting to contribute to a story this powerful, and see it told with such honesty and care, is exactly the kind of work we show up to do.
